Being Women!

It comes as a surprise to some men, if not all, that women can do several things at a time. It even seems to annoy some of them that women can watch a movie and at the same time, cook and clean, sweep and mop, clip their nails and text, or do one or two such things. Simply put, women are good at multitasking. It's as if they are designed to work that way. They can be doing multiple things at a time, and they still manage to accomplish those tasks without having to struggle too much.
Perhaps, that's why women are great homemakers. It is inborn in them. As little girls, they naturally inherit the traits of a mother. They play kitchen, they cook, they make up their dolls and love them like they were actually babies. They love tender. They display motherly love at such a young age. They easily pick up things. They are responsible and they may not necessarily like to work but they do, because they care far too much.
Women lead challenging lives. Especially in this career driven age- where women are left with more things to deal with, than ever. While they have their own careers to take care of, women still continue to work tirelessly behind the scene. They still run their homes regardless of whether they are single or married. They do countless things that men might, or might not even notice unless they are gone for a day or two. They continue to cook, clean, wash... keeping things in order, doing small things like clearing the table- something one might not even count unless it's not done.
Talk about married women, and their hands are literally full. One child is enough to occupy you 24/7 and you wonder how some parents actually manage to raise more than one decent kid. True, men play an equally crucial role in parenting, but somehow, women always end up carrying the bigger load. I have wondered in amazement how my working mother managed to raise seven of us, with dad always posted elsewhere when we were growing up. It must take some special kind of love to be able to do something like that.
Today, I look around and see how times have changed. The size of a family is a lot smaller but then, most women are pursuing challenging careers, too. Believe me, it's a luxury for a woman to come home, and find that everything is in order. Some of us cannot remember the last time we came home and just went about doing our own thing. Because there are families you need to attend to. There are things you need to put in place. And these are things you do on a daily basis regardless of whether you had an easy or a long, mean one.
That's why I say women belong to an amazing, amazing species! Maybe God gives us extra grace, strength and courage to do all the things we need to do. Yes, we multitask and men may loathe that, but if it weren't for multitasking, a lot of things would be out of place, especially at home.
Love, they say makes the world go round. But most certainly, it's women who make the world a better place to live in.
